Why White Plantation Shutters?

We offer a wide range of Painted Plantation Shutters but the most popular colour has always been the traditional White Plantation Shutter. The main reason for this is the versatility of the white colour. They fit suitably into both modern and traditional style homes. White Plantation Shutters also complement most styles of décor or can be used to contrast darker colours used in a home.

This not only means that White Plantation Shutters will be likely to suit your current style, but they will also likely suit future styles you may wish to introduce to your home. This is important as Shutters are usually seen as a long-term investment that, if properly looked after, will most likely be able to remain in your home for at least as long as you do.

A Home Perfect for White Plantation Shutters

Our customer has a family home full of personality and unique décor. This gives their home real life but also presents the challenge of ensuring that any additions fit into the existing style.

The White Plantation Shutters stand out beautifully on their windows. They contrast the black window frames and darker tones present but also complement the modern neutral tones that are also present.

If your home is predominately white and you like the idea of a contrast with your Shutters we have also provided the reverse, Black Plantation Shutters in a white room!

This dark/light contrast appeared throughout the home as a signature of its style. The White Window Shutters aided this whilst also providing the home with privacy and light control. The front-facing windows in particular allowed a lot of light in which was great for providing natural light, but not always desired.

To balance the need for natural light and shade, our customer chose a higher split tilt in their shutters. This would allow them to close all but the top section of the louvres, allowing light into their home but at a higher level that would not obstruct their vision. This could be seen to great effect in the home office, where to much light could make working difficult but a lack of natural light could make the space unpleasant. This balance helped create an inviting and pleasant workspace.

The International Labour Organisation promotes having both enough light but also preventing glare as being crucial to workers well being and happiness. This isn’t just for an office and is crucial to those who work from home as well!

Village Blinds and Shutters Home Appointments FAQ

Our design consultant will arrive at the agreed time slot and ask you questions about your requirements and style preferences to help understand your project. They will measure your windows and discuss fabric/material options and provide you with a quotation based on your choices.

Depending on your requirements, a home appointment can take from 30 minutes for 1-10 blinds, to 60 minutes for 10+ blinds or window shutters. Our design consultant will work at your pace and we’re happy to stay longer to talk through your options and provide advice if you’d like.

We would ask ahead of the home appointment that you have arranged clear access to the window areas being measured and that any obstructing furniture or breakables near the windows are removed.

Once the windows are in, plastering has been completed and any tiling or skirting or architrave that might be close to the blinds has been installed. This will allow our design consultant to take accurate measurements.

Usually, our design consultant will be able to provide you with your quotation during your appointment.  Sometimes for some very bespoke projects pricing can take a little longer. If you haven’t heard back within 24 hours, give them a call or email and they will keep you updated.

Our production team work tirelessly to craft every single blind and shutter for our customers individually. Lead in times can vary depending on factors such as material availability and our production schedule. That being said we will always work to get your order as quickly as possible. Ask your design consultant for an up-to-date lead time estimate.
